Eat everywhere and order food in 8 major languages. What is on the menu? How to pronounce the words? Let the iPhone speak for you! Shop abroad. Know what to order. Search the dictionary and find the native terms that locals use. Translate your menu for tourists, cook international cuisines. Communicate globally about food! Very practical on holidays, and indispensable for travel in Europe. Includes key phrases for reservation, etc.
Diner Dictionary lists a wide variety of food items, ingredients, cooking terms and is a unique translation resource in the domain of food. All food-terms with speech in 8 languages, 2-way translation in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese and Dutch. No internet needed, the database is built-in, no roaming costs.
You can set a base language independently of the language of translation when you eat in Switzerland, Belgium or another bi-lingual region where you know some words in each language and like some more support. For instance you can simply show the way of cooking the beef to the waiter in large type.

Cool program
Pretty cool program for an international foodie.
VERY DISAPPOINTING
Was excited about this app but was very disappointed in it. You can only search for words in English which sort of defeats the purpose if you’re trying to translate a menu item from another language when traveling in a foreign country. Also, the phrases are extremely limited. Useful basics like “do you have a table for two” or “can I make a reservation” are not include. Totally lame.
Not what I expected...disappointed.
I am getting ready to visit Paris and purchased this app based on a link from some travel blog. Ive been to Paris before and studied French in college. I understand the basics, but was hoping this app would help me understand the language that describes how an item is cooked or how its served. You know, the stuff you *really* need to know.
But thats not what I got with this app.
Another thing that I found pretty useless was the translator. Youd think it would be specific to food and/or restaurants. I typed in "saignant" (which is the word youd use to order your steak medium rare) the translation came back "bloody". Not very appetizing, huh?! Also, its incorrect because the word for rare in French is "bleu".
I dont think this app is going to help me that much.
Wonderful and very useful
This app is my favourite app, he help me a lot. Had all the kind of food and help you to spell the names of food in other languages,
